The CV-400 is a modular 4K camera platform for OEM and professional imaging. Built on a 1/2-inch 10-bit sensor and the Enciris image engine, it delivers native 4Kp60 video with low latency and on-camera control over exposure, color, noise, and enhancement across more than 22 parameters.

Two form factors share this imaging core: the CV-420 remote head with a Camera Control Unit for board-level OEM integration, and the CV-440 standalone system with a built-in touchscreen. Both output over SDI and HDMI and run on the same software environment as the LT-300 through a RESTful API. Designed and assembled in France, the CV-400 targets medical, microscopy, and industrial imaging.

Touchscreen Interface - CV440

The CV440 is a standalone camera system designed to operate independently, without relying on the media server. It features an integrated touchscreen that provides a local user interface for camera configuration and system control.

Through this interface, users can adjust camera settings, monitor system status, and perform setup operations directly on the device. Video monitoring is handled via the video outputs of the system, while the touchscreen focuses on configuration rather than capture or processing workflows.

Media Server - CV420

CV-420 systems are managed through a dedicated Media Server, specifically designed for this camera family. It provides unified access to video acquisition, camera controls, and processing features, along with snapshot and recording capabilities.

By abstracting hardware complexity, this Media Server exposes a single interface to acquire video, configure camera settings, and manage capture operations, allowing users to integrate CV-420 cameras easily into custom applications or automated environments.

Compositing

The Media Server can combine multiple incoming video streams to produce a single composited output, allowing multi‑source views without additional hardware. This composited output can be used for live display, recording, or snapshot capture, offering a flexible foundation for a wide range of use cases.

HDMI / SDI Overlay

The platform includes built-in overlay capabilities that allow text, shapes, and images to be added directly onto incoming video streams. With transparency control and dynamic updates, users can integrate custom graphics or predefined templates in real time.

Overlays are applied directly to all video outputs, including HDMI and SDI, providing immediate and consistent visual feedback across all display interfaces.

APIs & Frameworks

Enciris provides a RESTful API to access the Media Server features and control camera system. To simplify integration, client libraries are available in C++, Go, and Python, allowing applications to interact with the server without dealing with low-level communication details.

Support for standard multimedia frameworks such as DirectShow on Windows and V4L2 on Linux enables CV-420 cameras to be integrated easily into existing video pipelines and third-party applications.

Command-Line Interface - Ecurl

Ecurl is a command‑line tool built on top of the RESTful API. It allows users to control the Media Server directly from a terminal using simple URLs and commands, making it suitable for scripting, automation, and testing in both development and deployment environments.

Ecam is an interactive demonstration application built using the Enciris Go API. It provides a graphical interface to explore CV‑420 camera features, including live video acquisition, camera configuration, snapshot capture, and recording.

What is the difference between the CV-420 and the CV-440?

The CV-420 is a remote head camera with a Camera Control Unit that captures over PCIe, built for OEM integration into equipment such as microscopes and endoscopes. The CV-440 is a standalone system with a built-in touchscreen that runs on its own, with no host PC or capture card. Both share the same 1/2-inch 10-bit sensor, native 4Kp60 imaging, and SDI/HDMI outputs.

Yes. For integration into instruments such as endoscopes and microscopes, the CV-420 camera head can be supplied as bare electronic boards, without an enclosure, to build directly into your device. Housed heads and the fully packaged CV-440 are available when you need a finished product.

The camera head uses a 1/2-inch 10-bit CMOS sensor and delivers native Ultra HD 4Kp60 with low latency. It takes standard C-Mount lenses, with CS-Mount supported through an adapter, and mounts as a remote head inside optical instruments such as microscopes and endoscopes.

Yes. Over SDI and HDMI it feeds the LT-300 series, which captures, processes, and records the full 4K stream. It also works with the LT-100 series: over HDMI or DVI-D the connection is automatic, and over SDI you set the camera output to 1080p, since the LT-100 is an HD/SD card.

Windows 10 and newer with native API and DirectShow support, and Linux (Ubuntu 22.04 and newer, Debian 12 and newer). Client code is provided in Go, C++, C#, and Python, driven through the RESTful API and the Ecurl CLI. Hardware encoding uses the host GPU from Intel, NVIDIA, or AMD.

No. The CV-400 is not sold as a certified medical device, but it ships with standard CE and EMC certification and is designed for medical integration. Customers have already obtained medical certification for their own devices built on Enciris cameras. As the device manufacturer you complete that certification, and the CV-420 head can be supplied at board level to build directly into your instrument.
