Features
Description Sensoray’s Models 2518DIN and 2519DIN are the lowest cost-per-channel interfaces for strain gauges, temperature sensors, voltage or 4-20 mA to any computer with an Ethernet port. They feature 16-bit resolution from either eight or sixteen differential input channels, each individually programmable for a different sensor type. Analog-to-digital conversion is performed in under 22 milliseconds per channel for each block of eight channels. Model 2519DIN has two A/D converters.
Linearization, gain, and sensor type are software programmable, eliminating trim potentiometers and the need for board access. Sensor field wires may be connected directly to screw terminals on the Ethernet base board. Two temperature sensors automatically compensate thermocouples.
Calibration Models 2518/19DIN automatically self calibrate by measuring internal references. Reference data is stored in EEPROM’s so the boards may be easily interchanged. Communication The 10 Base-T network interface implements the physical Ethernet layer, the data link, network and application layers. It supports ARP, IP, ICMP and UDP. No communication software need be downloaded. The Ethernet board can process over 1500 messages per second. The IP address is set by programmable shunts. The high-order 3 bytes must be specified upon ordering from Sensoray. For example, if the unit is to operate at 192.168.2.x, specify “192.168.2” when ordering. The “x” is field-programmable via shunts.
Mechanical The 2518/19DIN comes with DIN rail hardware. An optional NEMA-4 enclosure, 2509E, and line operated power supply, 201, are also available.
Field Wiring Sensor wires connect to removable terminal blocks that are supplied with the 2518/19DIN. Each sensor channel has five conductors: two for sensor power, two for voltage measurement and one for a shield. No additional cables or breakout boards are required.
Optional NEMA Enclosure is available. Please refer to price table below. Application Notes Thermocouples >> Lead loss errors >> Typical sensor connections Software & Manuals It is not necessary to write or download programs. The 2518DIN are supplied with the necessary Ethernet software. An optional data logging program, QuickSense, allows easy channel definition and data readback. The 2518DIN is supplied with SDK18 software that has a DLL. 2518/2519DIN Instruction Manual >> Released 7/28/03 SDK18 (32-bit DLL) >> Released 5/1/03 Quicksense Software >> Released 12/15/99
