The LT-200 is a self contained stand alone HDTV multimedia server that can capture and compress HD/SD video and audio in real-time for live streaming applications. The device is connected to an ethernet network via RJ-45 and incorporates a media server as well as a web server. No host computer is required for operation and the device consumes only 6W when in fully used.
For larger broadcasting applications the LT-200 media stream is capable of feeding a Windows Media Server or other external media server. For smaller systems the LT-200 can stream directly to media clients. This products is ideally suited to live Silverlight streaming applications.
This module captures video from both analog and digital HD and SD video sources via DVI, RGB, VGA, component, S-video, SD/HD-SDI, or composite connectors.
The LT-200 compresses video in compliance with the VC-1 standard also referred to as WMV-HD. Originally developed by Microsoft, this encoder format is supported natively by most software decoders. The audio is compressed in conformance with the WMA standard. The mutiplexed output stream can be either ASP or MP4.
This powerful module can compress 1080p/i at up to 30 frames per second (fps). 2048x2048 can be encoded at 15fps. At lower resolutions the maximum compression frame rate increases. If the frame rate is higher than the LT-200 can handle, frame decimation can be enabled allowing high frame rate source to be acquired at a lower frame rate.
Compressed bitrates can vary between 64Kbit/s and 80Mbit/s depending on resolution, frame rate and quality desired.
To meet the requirements of internet transmission several advanced streaming features have been included. Among them is an adaptive bitrate mechanism that allows for the automatic reduction or increase of the bitrate depending on the line condition.
JPEG compressed snapshots are also available through a built in frame grabber that can be configures to be periodically updated. These can be used for display on website etc.
