| CPU The AMD Elan SC520 processor running at 133 MHz provides the performance approximately equivalent to that of a Pentium 75. The board is supplied with 32 MB SDRAM and 16 MB flash disk. I/O The 301-06 has 2 serial (RS-232) ports supporting communication speeds of up to 115 Kbps. Expansion Buses Model 301-06 supports both PC/104 and PC/104+ expansion buses. It allows up to 4 external PC/104+ devices. Ethernet A 10/100Base-T Ethernet adapter is integrated on the Model 301-06 board. It is built with Intel GD82559ER PCI Ethernet controller. The drivers for various operating systems are available. The board is equipped with an RJ45 network connector. Non-volatile memory The 301-06 is supplied with a 16 MB flash disk which appears to the software as a regular hard drive. A socket is provided for an optional DiskOnChip (a 3V part is required) Power Only one power supply (+5V) is required. A power connector allows connecting additional power supplies (-5V, +12V, -12V) to the expansion buses, if necessary. Total power consumption of the board is 5 W. Watchdog Timer An I/O mapped watchdog timer can reset the CPU or it can drive an open-collector output to reset external circuitry. The time out value is 1.6 seconds. Accessory Modules PC I/O board Model 300TA: PC/104, 2 IDE, 1 floppy, 1 parallel, 2 serial, keyboard, and mouse. SVGA board Model 322: PC/104+, SVGA, TV output. Bus Buffers The data, address and control bus signals are buffered with 16244’s and 16245’s. This allows stacking several PC/104 boards without degrading signal quality. This feature makes it possible to add five PC/104 peripheral boards to one 301-06 CPU for Sensoray’s Model 2412 MPEG 2 compression engine. Most competing CPU boards do not have bus buffers. Embedded software The CE option adds Windows CE NET to the 301-06’s flash memory. CE NET drivers are available for most Sensoray PC/104 boards. The L option adds Sensoray’s Linux distribution to the 301-06’s flash. This is a configurable Linux file system that is accessible via the Ethernet port or one of the RS-232 ports. Files may be transferred using the FTP (file transfer protocol). Linux drivers are available for most Sensoray peripheral boards. Sensoray has optimized Linux installation for the 301-06. Although it is possible to recompile the Linux kernel, Sensoray does not offer technical support for this operation.
